Think, at least at first, we were thinking that the breeder would want to know where the dog was. It did not dawn on me someone would rescue a dog from an advert on Gumtree and consider breeding from it that as far as I am concerned is unthinkable. Then again I am a naive OAP.

Or a kind hearted dog breeder who thinks everyone has the same ideals :)

We live and learn. :-)

To be fair to the OP, they said they have only had the dog around a month. The litter in question is at least 2 weeks old so if the details given were correct, this dog is not the sire.

Which OP would that be? The one who wants to know about back to back litters or the one whos bitch bites them?

As long as a breeder gives two words for a name that don't infringe an existing affix you will have a name without an affix.

Cheers -that explains that little mystery. :)

What makes you think it is the same person?

Names...style...content

I am not so sure. Isnt this the girlfriend of celtic lad? I am sure celtic lad stated on another post that his breed is in the hound group.

But yes i agree, the post styles are very similar.

I'm sure you have just made Celtic Lad blush. Nope Joey82 is connected to Craigeee, (and possibly Billy too) completely different breeds and people. :-)

Oh goodness, i got confused! Easily done! Woops, my apologies celtic lad!

Just noticed I have been mentioned on this post and really do not know why.I care greatly for any dogs I own and pups I breed.Posters really should take greater care when making reference to anyone on this forum.

The poster has already acknowledged their confusion and apologised.

I realise, it was just confusion and it has been corrected and i apologise. Unfortunately it is to late for me to edit my post.

Fine :) I thought you must have not have read all the thread and seen the relevent post.

From reading this thread through, I would only add two points...

Firstly, it appears, if this dog was "given" to the person who then passed it on for cash to the OP, then the original purchaser of the puppy from the breeder is neither of the previous owners - unless the pup was given for free which is highly unlikely especially if KC registered.

Re getting microchip details changed - why not just get the dog microchipped again? This might sound very simplistic, but would it be feasable, or cause too much confusion? I would think that the current chip could be cancelled if not able to be updated.

I agree that registration is not especially important if the dog is going to be purely a pet. If he was going to be used for breeding then all I can say is there are far too many unregistered litters out there already...!

That would be very unwise as the scanner would then pick up BOTH chips, and anyone scanning is never going to assume there is more than one chip, so if the old one is found they'd not get the correct details.

must admit at first thought it was someone who d bought a dog out of a bad situation and just wanted to reg it as his own dog and find out more about his breeding ....didnt know about previous posts re puppies etc ....sorry more to this than meets the eye !!!!
