When i tried to send reply to a post,"flood control" msge came up with instruction to wait 11 seconds before posting again, which I did. It has come through twice. Could someone explain what this meant as am quite ignorant on the technical terms.

its to help prevent spamming (junk mail etc) getting through to the forum, if someone attempts to post in quick succesion, i blocks it as it thinks its spamming. HTH

Hi freja - have a look at your reply on the thread.  Your post appears twice, which would account for the repeated 'flood' message

It sometimes happens when the system is a bit slow, or multiple replies are being posted at the same time.  The delay can make you hit 'post' twice or more :)

after I pressed send the first time, msge said to wait 11 seconds before posting. waited longer, then pressed send again. Perhaps it would have gone anyway. Think I need course on computing, don't understand the jargon. If grand-daughter who is 12 was here - she would!
Thanks dogs a babe. Am "a crinkley" now and still to get to grips with what to me, is just a foreign language!
