Does anybody know if an insurance policy (Tesco in this case) states a 14 day exclusion period from the start date of the policy whether that means 14 days or does it mean 14 working days?!  Thank you!

14 days in total, not 14 working days. :-)

Really?  I hope so :)  Can't find it anywhere on the internet!

I have just taken out new insurance for mine today and it said 14 days not working days. As it happens im not cancelling my current policy for another 14 days so I know im covered.

If it was working days the insurance company would stipulate this!¬ ;)

It is the same principle for >3 day RIDDOR, actual days rather than working days, bank holidays etc.

Brilliant, thank you for all your replies, I just wondered as you know what insurance companies can be like!  Thanks again

I have to admit to being with Tesco Insurance for all of our Salems',(all to short) 9years. He died from DCM which obviously incurred large claims for various medications and specialist treatments and they were all paid promptly direct to our vet. Other claims for our various cats have  also been paid promptly. When we got our new puppy, we have again insured with Tesco - and our vet has always been happy with their service and payments. I'm assuming as with all insurance companies - some have better expeiences than others, but I can honestly say that neither we, nor our vet have ever experienced any problem with them :o)

Yes I'm with Tesco too, no problems paying the vet direct and have paid timely when I asked for a cheque sending to me instead.
