- By barbara2076 [gb] Date 11.06.11 14:18 UTC
Hi can someone help with my question, I sold a litter and put breeding restrictions on them all, I now want to lift it off one of them, how do I do this?

Thank you

B

You write to the KC and tell them.

You have to return the original registration document as well. Endorsement FAQs

Thank you, that sounds easy to do.

The KC article was written in 2006; they don't seem to bother asking for registration certificates anymore, presumably it doesn't matter unless you want a new one back that shows no endorsements. I've never been asked for a reg cert when I have lifted endorsements (and I've never had the cert to hand either as obviously it has been with the owner). I lifted one last year and one this year without reg certs, just wrote a letter stating dog's reg number or stud book number, reg'd name and name and address of owner. Got a letter back within a week which I then scanned and e-mailed to the owners.

I never do. I endorse everything including the ones I keep, so have written letters often but never been asked to return anything.

Yes all we had to do was write a letter and it was lifted without any problem

I have never done that as usually the dog by then is in someone else's ownership, I think this might apply if the new owners want it to show on the registration cert for their dog that the endorsement has gone.

Certainly I have never returned a registration cert for any of mien.

It is rather annoying though that they confirm lifting of the endorsement to the person that put it on, but do not cc this info to the owner.  so if your the owner ask the person that placed the endorsement to send you a copy of the letter confirming ti has been lifted, and if you placed the endorsement send the owner a copy to avoid any misunderstanding/worry.

I have just had an email about this from the K.C. as I asked them why they had notified the breeder that the endorsements had been lifted but not the owner. It seems daft to me that the owner is only told by the breeder. The K.C. said that they would notify me if I paid £5 for the privilege though they did confirm that it had been done! How bizzare is that?

I have suggested to them on numerous occasions that telling the owner is something they should do to avoid any ill feeling/misunderstandings/doubts.
