Topic Dog Boards / General / Alice's bucket list

Alice is a young lady who has terminal cancer - you may have read about her already - see her blog above here.   She has made out her "bucket list" - the things she hopes to do before she kicks the bucket - and one of these is to show her labrador Mabel in a labrador class in a dog show.

From her blog, it would appear that Alice and Mabel live in Cumbria - do any of you lab people know of any local shows that she might be able to attend and participate in?   I'm sure that someone will.

Such maturity from such a young girl - such a view on life - she deserves as much help as we can give - anyone able to help???

The picture of Alice with Mabel near the bottom shows her with a Rosette so has she already managed to do that one and tick it off the list ?

What a lovely girl who is showing such bravery in light of how the cancer seems to be progressing.

I have just thought Lab Rescue NW are having their Fun Show at the beginning of July so have sent a message to them to get an invite out to Alice as I am sure she woukld have a super time there as it is normally a great day !

That would be great if she could get there, and possibly sleep in a caravan the same night (another one on her list).

Yes hadn't thought about that as I know a few people do camp and take Caravans.

I am sure if the invite goes to her they will think of it but when I get a reply I will point them to that one as well !

Thanks Lucy .... I knew that someone would be able to do something - let's hope that something can come of it!

Help has already been offered ;-)  and all wishes on Alices bucket list have been fulfilled :-)

All of them ? I presume not the ones where she wanted to go to Kenya I presume? Glad she has been able to get them sorted I wonder if she is going to make some more up as she has got nothing to loose and if anything make her life more fulfilled (if that is the right word to use ) then I think she should :-)

A couple of us offered help to show her Lab, the person who was co-ordinating received an e-mail thanking us, and went on to say ALL her wishes had been fulfilled.

I would imagine so Lucy.  more likely not actually fullfilled, but certainly promises made :-) and to become reality very soon... some things (like entering shows :-)  with closing dates weeks in advance) and travel plans take time to prepare, but promises made and they will all happen for her, I am sure :-)

Oh Bless her, it makes you feel so humble doesn't it?

From what I've been led to understand, she isn't going to be well enough to go on safari to Kenya - but if at all possible, a "safari in Kenya experience" will be arranged for her close to where she lives!
