I just find a lot of them upsetting - some of the random crosses out there aren't as dramatically outlandish as these but can still be so damaging for the poor dogs.
My Raine is a great example of it - 3/4 lab, 1/4 working line malinois. She looks very lab-ish, so the owners' immediate assumption was that she would be uber friendly, bombproof and easy-going, wouldn't hurt a fly, ideal family dog etc. No-one considered the sire's input at all.
The incorrect assumption that she was basically a lab led to poor handling, then poor training methods, recurring illness through stress and ultimately, rehoming to me due to serious aggression caused by growing up in that environment. Had they learned a bit about the mali side - not just seen a cute lab X - things may have turned out very differently. Fortunately I've researched malis on and off for years so knew what I was getting into when I took her - shame they couldn't do the same.
Random crosses are bad enough in themselves but the repurcussions can be huge for the poor dogs :-(
