If feeding beef mince ( I do :-) ), please make sure it has been frozen first. The act of freezing kills the parasite neosporosis caninum, which may be present in the mince and can be fatal.

Hi there, I used to feed a raw diet a decade ago. I was feeding raw, pre frozen packs of mince etc with veg added as well as bone meal, kelp etc. I had a bitch that I raised from a pup on this diet and bred from her. Her due date came and went and it turned out that she had inertia due to me adding too much bone meal. I haven't fed barf/raw since. Its not that I don't agree with it before I get shot down in flames but unless you can honestly say that you know what you are doing, feeding a pregnant bitch a raw diet can cause more problems than you can imagine.

> bone meal

Conventional wisdom now says that bone meal is unnecessary, partly because it's much too easy to overfeed it.  I understand why you no longer wish to feed a raw diet but I think the bone meal was the problem rather than the raw element.  However, I'm not attempting to convert you but thought it was worth adding a comment for other readers :)
