Hello!

I've been trying to find how long it takes fluids and food to pass through a healthy dogs system only I can't find it... So I've come to the most knowledgeable place I know!
I think it's about 8 hours, is that right?

Thank you!

EDIT - Just had to tell everyone that whilst I am whistle training my BC pup for recall - she is known to run upstairs and fetch down random items that she can find or get her teeth into... I've been using the whistle to recall her and rewarding her when she comes back to it, however she now thinks she is being rewarding for fetching objects downstairs and has turned it into a bit of a game this evening! I'd be worried if I thought it would affect her recall but just been to the park and it not a problem, phew!

I think it depends on the food and the state of the dogs digestion.

In the past when my lot have had sweetcorn it has reappeared the next day.

My cocker would eat cotton buds and they would come out about 24 hours after I had found he had raided the bathroom bin.

I think she's in pretty good nick, I'm more thinking about her usual diet, raw meat supplimented with a little kibble. I know they have different digestive rates but wasn't sure roughly when you should see what you put in one end coming out of the other so to speak...
