Topic Dog Boards / General / Loving kennel wanted for Bullmastiff
- By Kimbo [gb] Date 29.05.11 16:12 UTC
Hello, I am looking for help and guidance to find a good and loving kennel for our little guy ! He is a male Bullmastiff and will be around 9 months old when we need to board him for 2weeks.....I have been offered a life time opportunity to move to the USA with my job and have already researched transportation etc but the time is approaching to start to find a new home......so far I have travelled on my own to do this but the time comes for both me and my husband to go together and I need to find a loving home for him for 2 weeks whilst we travel....I am desperate to find somewhere that he can go and be looked after that is recommended and I could not think of a better place to ask then you guys [and girls ]on this form.....I am willing to pay more than the going rate for a kennel and will travel a distance to the right place [he travels well !]......I am in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.....he is well socialised and is a joy to be around.......I would not even contemplate this at this age unless it's absolutely necessary but the time has come for us to go together....I would really appreciate your comments and any first hand recommendations......our little guy is our pride and joy and we need to know that whilst he is away from us he will be loved and looked after....

Please help!

Have you asked his breeder? Most would be happy to take one of their pups back if they can possible manage it. Or do you have a relative or friend who could spare the time to come and live in your home and look after it and your dog.

Hi Nova, We had a terrible breeder and would not trust them with a stuffed toy let alone my sweetie! My mother is old and unwell and could not handle a puppy and my inlaws have male intact rotties that are trained guard dogs and would not handle this.....hence my dilemma!

Kimbo, if money isn't a problem why don't you look to a pet sitter instead, where he will go and stay in the comfort of a house, be taken out on proper dog walks, be able to lounge around in a room and be with a family rather than sat in kennels on his own listening to other dogs barking and not knowing what is going on.

Plenty on here use them hopefully one or two will come back with some they have used, but they are also on the Internet, you go to their homes and they meet you and your boy first so that you are all happy with the situation, they are fully insured and it is a much better alternative for a pup.

Just look on the Internet for home dog sitters to give you an idea. :-)

I've heard great things about this place and being that you live in the same county i'd go and check them out. They only have a small number of dogs at any one time and the price will and should reflect how they look after the dogs. From reading this they have webcams about the place so you can keep an eye on your dogs too. At £50 p/n roughly i'd expect no less...

My friend looks after dogs for http://www.barkingmad.uk.com/. As she has her own bitch the visitor would have to be sociable.

It says on the site they have moved back to the States but recommend this one, which is similar to theirs:
