Does anyone use this company for pet insurance and can recommend them (or not as the case maybe) Or failing that any recommendations for other companies welcome. Thank you
hi been using them for our bullmastiff for the last 5 years, got full cover only about £25 a month which is good for the top policies.getting another dog this month gonna add it to policy and then you also get 10% discount.
our girl been in and out of vets ,never had problems paying out and the bills have been over a few thousand in total.
I have used them for some years now without problem. Three large breed dogs and they have paid out a good £2-3000 over the years with no worries. They do a good rolling cover too on the better policies. Aileen
My sister in law works at a vets and she said not to touch this company. She said that they don't pay out easily and the vets solicitors have had to chase them a number of times for the money. Maybe it is just the practice she works :)
who are there under writters,im with churchil, but for the same amount of money i can go with them and have lifetime on going cover, very interested in finding out more on peoples experiances with them jo
I am insured with animal friends. I made a claim last year following gdv with my male. The claim £1300. They paid out after about 2 -3 weeks. Renewal this year went up by 25p. No exclusion but wondered if this could be because he hd gastroplexy.
The downside = high excess once the dogs reach 8 years - £69 + 35%. I pay £25.98 a month per dog. My previous insurer jumped from £48 monthly for 2 dogs to £90! (healthy pets) I had claimed for my bitch who had cancer treatment so this probably had a bearing on the increase. Although I had an amount left I could still have claimed it was not possible to pay £90 mnth. Animal friends needless to say excluded EVERYTHING that could possibly be cancer. Had to pay for her scans every 3 months myself for 2 years.
Have just been reading Martin Lewis' newsletter (moneysaving expert) they are now covering pet insurance. I am not sure about doing links but do feel is worth signing up for this. I didn't know Dogs Trust will cover for public liability alone is £25 a month for all the dogs owned.
