Topic Dog Boards / General / Bulgarian Import Rules

Both my dogs have an EU recognised passport.  They had their rabies vaccination in Feb 2010.  The vaccination booster date is 2013 so everything is still valid.  I may be moving to Bulgaria for a new job and I will be taking both dogs with me.  I have had a good search around the internet but I have found conflicting information so wondered if anyone on here knows, or can point me in the right direction for the rules regarding this question;

When taking the dogs INTO Bulgaria must the rabies vaccination have been given within 12 months prior to the departure date or will a vaccination over that but within the manufacturers dates for booster be accepted?

I'm happy with the rules regarding bringing them back to the UK and need no help with this.

You need to contact the embassy for the rules.  Some countries do require annual Rabies vaccination, whether the vaccine is effective and licensed for longer or not.

Thanks for that, I had guessed as much but hoped a member of CD may have travelled out there recently either for a stud or a show.
