Anyone know of any nice caravan parks near alton towers?
Never been there, but the Camping and Caravanning club have got a site about a mile from Alton Towers.
The Star caravan site at cotton, its owned by the caravan club now.
Sorry Jocelyn, but it is the Camping and Caravan Club! The Caravan Club is a different organisation! :)

Just been looking at the caravan club - think we might join. Didnt realise there was a camping and caravan club - off to check that one out now too! :-D
We belong to the both but tend to use the Caravan Club more than the Camping and Caravanning Club. If you join, you almost save the annual fee in the reduction you get by staying just a week as a non member plus you get a monthly magazine! And No, I am nothing to do with either C.C. club or C&C Club! :)

I think the caravan club would be more benefit to us actually. My OH thinks he might get a discount through his work because they do work for the caravan club (?!?).
Brilliant! It is about £35 a year to join I think, we pay by standing order so I haven't noticed the charge for this year yet. The Caravan club site facilities are superior to the Camping and Caravanning Club sites, however, I can't really generalise as we haven't been to many C&C club sites because they aren't always in such convenient locations as the CC sites. It makes you a bit 'picky' about the commercial sites though! :) Have a look at the reviews on the UKCampsites website. (Sorry Admin if this is deemed as advertising!)

Its not advertising because Ive asked for advice surely!
Were setting the caravan up next weekend to make sure everything works! As soon as a towbar is fitted to the car we will be off!!

I am never sure what is 'advertising' or not on here! :) You will love the caravan, it is like having a transportable 'Wendy House!' :)
I meant the camping and caravan club.
