Hi, we recently lost our mini schnauzer (15). Our other dog who is three appeared to take it in his stride. Now, four weeks on, he is off his food. He'll eat scraps but no interest in dog food at all. Vet checked and his ears are slightly inflamed. Could this explain the loss of appetite, or could it be a delayed reaction to his friend passing away? Any suggestions welcomed.

I would put your dog on ignatia which is a homeopathic remedy, helps grief.  Also rescue remedy in the interim.  All mine go on these when I lose one of mine as I sometimes think it affects them more than we realise.

I shall do some googling, thanks for the tip!

Beware of jumping to conclusions, he could be poorly!

Had him checked at vet, other than some inflammation of his ears all is well. Perhaps when his ears clear up we'll have more idea.
