I'm no expert, but we had the same with our 17 week lab. She would wee in the kitchen during the day if the door was shut and she knew we were in the house, it was as if it was her way of saying "you're here, but you've shut me in this room so I'm going to do something in protest". She was also doing this while being left in the kitchen overnight. However, whenever we go out, we normally come back to a dry kitchen floor, we think it's because she knows we're out so there's no point in her doing this protest.
I put a post on here last week asking for advice on whether it was a good idea for us to try putting her in the bedroom overnight with us. I got some good advice back and since then she's been in the bedroom with us for about 4 nights now and hasn't done a thing on the bedroom carpet. We now realise that she's obviously alot happier in our company and doesn't want to be left alone.
I'm not saying that this is why your dog is doing this, but it could be.
We don't mind her sleeping in our room, at least she doesn't wake us during the night, or early hours of the morning barking for attention (after she'd done her stuff on the paper), and is quite happy to lay next to the radiators when they come on!!
It's up to you really, if you don't mind her in the bedroom with you, then why not give it a try. You might be surprised.
Good luck

I just noticed on the other posting that you have a 6 week old staffy too? Are you sure that he isn't the one doing the piddling?
You could also be confusing her because you've been putting down "stuff to encourage" him to pee on paper.
What arrangements are you making for her and your puppy at night for sleeping arrangements? Are they together loose? Or do you have him in another area, like with you and she's in the kitchen? If that's the case, she could be extremely upset and the piddling is a sign of that.
regards,
toodles
