Topic Dog Boards / Health / Freya needs good wishes!

Please send positive thoughts to Freya (aka Fanny Fatpants!)

She went into the vets yesterday for a routine speying - everything went well but she's lost more blood than I like to see after a speying, and this morning she's back in, going to have another GA whilst they check that nothing has come adrift inside:(   Vet said it was a tad on the difficult side as she has "rather a lot of fat" - so hopefully won't be much more than that.

I feel guilty now ...taking a healthy (albeit a bit fat) labrador in for an operation that wasn't really essential although she is now 6 - and now the poor girl has to go under a GA for a second time.

(aka Fanny Fatpants!)  You crack me up with the names you call your dogs. :-D

Anyhow......... yes, my thoughts will be with her, you weren't to know, it's such a routine op I wouldn't expect any complications either, the vet will sort her out and she'll be home again soon. Get well soon Freya.

Lot's of healing thoughts coming your way, poor girl will be grateful for a bit of extra padding to see her through 2 GA's. Hope she's well soon.

Sending positive vibes yours and Freya's way . Fern one of my dog lost a lot more blood than she should after an op a few weeks ago , she went back to theatre and they fixed the problem . I hope this is the case for Freya also.
Keeping everything crossed here .
xx

Any news on Freya Margot?
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 19.05.11 22:10 UTC
Sorry - had to go out this evening so didn't get a chance to update.

Freya is home ....vet kept her under observation this morning, decided that as she had stopped losing so much blood that they could let her home again - her colour was excellent all the time, and so was heart/lungs.  She has come home this time with a LARGE bandage all around her tum, so she can't lick at anything at all.

She goes back for her check tomorrow am - but as I've come home, she is quite happy again :)

Thanks for all the good wishes!

How is she today Margot?
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 20.05.11 17:12 UTC
Took her back today for a check-up, she trotted happily up the road, almost dragged me across to the Vet's, barged the door open, made straight for the reception desk - and sat down for a treat!!!

Vet had a good look, took off the bandage/padding - no fresh blood on it, everything absolutely fine.   Freya then went to go through to the "back" - operating area - so she obviously has no problem with Aunty Vet!!!

She just has to go back next week for her final check - and of course, continue with the A/bs for the next 4 days!

Thank you all for your good wishes - I appreciate them (Freya would prefer treats ;) )

The next step ?    Maybe a little gentle "running" - for both of us  !
