i purchased a puppie at a cost of £500.00 . on the day of purchase i made an appointment with my vet for a check up the pup was small , runt of the litter but beautifull , when i walked in the breeders room she came straight to me , i fell in love with her straight away , i had chosen this breeder because both parents were PAT tested , and kc registered , she supposedly came with kc papers which after 4 weeks have still failed to appear , i phoned the breeder on several occasions because of problems i was having and left e mail messages , so far she has cost me £300.00 in vets bills and it now seems that she may have a congenital liver and kidney failure , and then i find out the breeder sold the pup when she was only 6 weeks old , when i was told she was eight weeks old , the insurance company are not interested in renewing the insuarance , because of the problems she has had already , my pup is now having blood tests and ultasound scans , and will be going for a referal to a specialist which im told can cost £800.00 + i love her and ill find the money from somewhere , i just find it so hard to believe that a breeder can be so ************** any advise would be gratfull plus and good wishes

So very sorry to hear of the problems with your puppy. I can't understand why the Uns people will not continue cover for your pup, the ones that give this '6 weeks free cover' don't mention failing to continue cover should something go wrong! As to the breeder. Well, I guess I'd be struck off if I said what I thought of her! :)
Seriously, you do have a case to argue legally, both in regard to the 'KC reg' bit if the puppy is not, and the health of the puppy. If you have in writing somewhere-the advertisement you answered, or your receipt-that the pup is KC reg, then hang on to it. Also anything else you have in writing regarding the puppy. I would contact her again by recorded delivery letter stating the circumstances of your pups health, and that you require the KC papers for the puppy, or her written confirmation that the puppy you purchased is eligable for KC reg, this has been applied for and when the document arrives she will post it to you. Give her 7 days to reply, and see what she has to say. If you don't get a reply I would then do three things. I would report her to the Pets as Therpy charity (if she is a member) as they would not have their members acting this way. I would advise the KC of what has happened, and I would report her to the trading Standards.
As to the puppy. Well, I am suprised that any breeder would sell a 'runt' or small puppy until they were absolutly sure that nothing was 'hiding'-as in a condition that has not yet made itself shown. Unfourtunatly, a 'runt' puppy can have hidden problems which will only manifest themselves when pup gets older, so it is better to not be in a hurry to sell such a puppy until older and only after having a through vet check with the breeders vet. I would think you don't want to send it back, so really what action do you want to take? Would you be satisfied with you money back, or do you wish to take the breeder through the courts and sue her? This really is something you should discuss with your solicitor, and if you do that I would also check to see why the Insurance company have ditched you.
I just hope that all turns out well for your puppy at the end of the day, and think the puppy is lucky to have such a very caring owner!
