Topic Dog Boards / Health / benalyin dosage question
- By lynseygraham [gb] Date 15.05.11 12:33 UTC
I was at the vets on friday regarding an ongoing condition with my 5 year old terrier, we are awaiting results of initial tests and the vet had mentioned the use of benalyin to try and soothe the cough he has developed- unfortunately I was so busy filling in my insurance claim form I can't remeber the dosage she suggested.
I have a bottle of benalyin chesty cough for children. My dog is just under 10kgs, just wondering if anyone would know what a safe daily dose would be? I have given him 1 5ml measure yesterday and 1 today.
I am back at the vets tomorrow so will double check what she said, but just wondered if anyone on here would know?
Thanks

When my min schnauzer had kennel cough I gave her Benylin (she weighs about 9 kg).  I measured about 1/2 spoon for her (about 2.5ml?) at a time.  I just guessed, but didn't want to give her too much.  I'm sure it helped ease it.
