
Yikes.
Add to the KC list hypothyroidism (annual check) and DCM (dilated cardiomyopathy, annual check). Both are HUGE problems within the breed - DCM especially, it's currently affecting something like 60% of all dobes and is downrght vicious in the breed (average survival times are horrendously low compared to other breeds).
I cannot believe the KC doesn't have it on their list :(
I'd also want to research the lines for instances of Wobblers' disease - no test for it that I know of but it's also a significant problem in dobes.
The particular eye test that should be done is for PHPV (persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous) - not a massive problem as I understand it but by testing anyway, breeders stand a good chance of it not becoming one.
