just wanted to give you all a little laugh,, just came back from nice long walk with my 3 year old English Bull terrier boy, and i bumped into another dog walker who admired my boy gave him a stroke then said to me, " Hes a French Bulldog isn't he!"loooool, well i just kind of looked in amazement, as my brain quickly raced for thoughts of what resemblance a bull terrier has to a french bulldog , it must be the ears loool,  i mean my boy been called a lot of breeds in the past but Never that one lool i really thought id heard it all till today,, bless :-)

Haha. At least he'd heard of french bulldogs - many haven't! ;)

As a tiny pup, my Louis was called a pug, a kitten!??! and even a chinchilla!!! lol

My Lulu ( french bulldog ) was mistaken for a WAIT FOR IT *** black westie *** nearly pee'd myself didn't know what to say. Also when she was a pup the man next door thought she was a gorgeous looking KITTEN ! :)

When our persian cat was alive, he would sit and look out of the window and was often mistaken for a dog, usually a peke....!!!!!

Someone asked me if my fawn dobermann was a rottweiler the other week!

He's had all sorts - ridgeback, chocolate lab, greyhound, great dane, 'rizla' (the bloke's uncle breeds rizlas ya know!!), regular viszla lol, and of course weimeraner.  Sure I've forgotten some too.  And more often than not, people don't believe me when I tell them what he is and ask if he's a cross - I've even had one bloke argue with me about it!

The rottweiler is vying for top spot of 'most unlikely breed suggestion' with, wait for it...

When we got our very first Frenchie we took her for her 2nd vaccination, when one of the Vet receptionists saw us coming across the car park with Zoe in my arms, she thought I was carrying a rabbit!!!  They'd never had a Frenchie at our Vet hosp, now they have all my lot!!

The bizarre thing is, I have actually met a purebred Weimaraner with tan points - and I thought it was a Fawn Dobe!

"What has Your Breed been mistaken for", some are quite ridiculously funny, an old guy asked if my boy was pure bred i said yes, he then said "ohhh but he's got the Dalmatians ears", looool, (my white bully boy has got few black spots on his ears) so i said yes well his mum has one whole black ear, to which he answered "yes cos those are the real ones those with the patches", loool, Errrmmmm OK! xx people make me laugh in a sweet way :-D ,
i have been told many times that my boys a pitt bull , once even by a community warden, i now just sigh, hold my head in my hands and say "yeah whatever", looool,, x

When one of our Rottie's was about 10 weeks some asked if she was a Lancashire Heeler - not a common breed to get a Rottie muddled up with.
My Akita gets called all sorts of things which is quite funny - once she was a GSD gone wrong lol!
The Leonberger was was an Afghan cross.

I remember taking my first Devon Rex kitten to the vet for his check over after I brought him home, the vet was checking him over and looking at him but didn't seem very impressed (I was a bit put out as I had bought a well bred kitten) anyway I started talking about him being my first Devon and the relief I saw on the vets face was unreal...he said he thought I had bought a very badly bred Siamese lol!!  Needless to say I think we are the only people who have Devon Rex that go to my vets lol!

The funniest one I had was yesterday, I was asked if Buster (English Mastiff) was a Jack Russell!!!!! :-D :-D It was children that asked though.

On Tuesday a little girl asked me if my 4 month old bulldog puppy was a cat lol

Try having a Komondor....pmsl.....After people have gone through every kind of doodle, oodle and noodle I tell them what he is and then I get .."Oh yeah my mates got one of them"....lol...I just smile and walk away :D

I still think the lady who I'd asked to judge our companion show a few years back (not realising she ONLY knew about our own breed) asking our chairman if his curly coat retrievers were Bedlingtons was pretty good!

There are "ginger jobs" occasionally or "peach points" as some people call them.  It goes back to the original breeds the Weimaraner was developed from.

Even worse, now people are breeding "blue" Weimaraners now, and charging a lot of money them! YUK

Yup, and there's a smidge of weims in dobes too which is likely where the fawns came from, or a contributing factor at least.  Possibly the blues too, given the blue weims!

It's the same with white dobes (and the blues and fawns), they got very popular with the moneymakers and a few years back started popping up here - last year there were blues and fawns all over the classifieds with the odd white thrown in, although it seems to have gone quiet at the moment (thank dog).

Wasnt there something in the dog papersrecently,  that a lady wasnt allowed to stay somewhere as her dog was a dangerous dog...it was a french bulldog.

I know she is within breed standard but all the idiots with the staff x don't reckon she is a proper staff as they are used to the taller ones lol

No need to worry, I've had the pitbull question too.... about my male Stafford; who (for the record) is within breed standard height, too.  I was about to run with him on the beach.. it knocked me back a little I must admit!
