Where do people stay when going to Border Union. Somewhere inexpensive that will allow dogs in rooms. Thanks

we have stayed at the clovenfords hotel http://www.priceline.co.uk/hotel/en/119145/clovenfords_hotel.html around half hour away from show, dogs go free and breakfast inc if you book through priceline its a bit cheaper.http://www.priceline.co.uk/location/en/united_kingdom/scotland/borders/kelso_hotels.html?otherResults=true they have a bar where you can take dogs and if you dont want to leave dogs in the room they will let you eat your breakfast in the bar  as they are not allowed in the restaurant. Very friendly I have given thier details to others who have been as happy as me with thier hospitality re:dogs.

Think there is a Travel Lodge at Berwick.

Trouble is they now charge £20 per dog and we have 4 dogs travelling :-(

that is why I prefer to find somewhere that offers a bit more for you and dont charge for the dogs. May cost the same but a bit more comfort.

Agree that you need to go a long way to find something as basic in comfort as a Travel Lodge and agree a small hotel or B&B would be far more comfortable and welcoming.
