hi all thought id update every1 on how things are going with my large breed bitch. we are happy to say shes having pups its the 7th week now and getting really excited.shes put loads of weight on and can feel them moving in her belly but shes not really going out much and when she does go she doesnt do anything ie wee or poo, shes been sick a couple of mornings, shes eating her food but not all of it she leaves some

is this normal?

How long since she has passed anything?
I would be concerned if she had stopped. Even if she is not eating much, and most go off thier food in the last week or so, she should be drinking plenty and toileting.

That sounds about right then. as long as she is still toileting. Many get a little diarrhea or sickness in the days leading up to whelping. As long as she is comfortable, and not unwell, no discharge (Greeny colour) pups still moving then she needs to be tenpted with small amounts of her favourite foods. Pop a lead on and take her out at regular intervals to see if she will toilet. Just round the garden if she does not want to go further. She needs to stretch her legs a little. Any real concerns need a trip to the vet. If she stops drinking or stops passing anything at all she needs to be seen. better a consultation fee than a disaster.
