Today ,while I was at work, my hubby was out in the garden putting down Evergreen 4 in 1 lawn stuff...he had the dogs out with him most of the day. My wee dog I take to work. Well..when I got home and after I made the dinner he let all the dogs out again and he brought the wee on in and said he's hurt his paw. I saw nothing on it but he was licking like mad. I then noticed the others were doing it too.
I looked at the bag and on the VERY BOTTOM of the bag it has a pet warning...the 4 in 1 needs to be watered in before any pets can go on to it :-/ Hubby says his arms have little burning spots from applying the product.
So it looks like they all have burned paws...and it seems we are not likely to anything more than a sprinkle for the next few days...so now the dogs garden is off limits until it rains..

Just be warned with lawn products...:-(

I would make sure the dogs have plenty to drink - if it's burning their paws and they are then licking the product off their feet it can't be good for them to be ingesting the stuff even though it will be in very small amounts.

It might be worth ringing your vet and asking for advice?

Soon as I noticed them licking their feet I washed them....but will make sure to keep a close eye on them...:-) thanks...

Most lawn prep and also weed killer need to be kept away from pets for a period of time. I wanted to kill off my nettles in the garden which grow in between the grass in the dog garden, but wanted something dog and cat friendly. Did find something that is ok for pets once dried, so in this weather it doesn't take long... And oh the satisfaction of the dying nettles, mwuahhahhhaa

Suejaw, what's your nettle killer? We've let the garden go, over the past year ( only mowing the lawn) and the nettles are everywhere. I've pulled loads up but of course the roots are still there :( Luckily they haven't spread to the fenced patio area - I've managed to keep that clear!

Its Resolva 24hr lawn weedkiller. Once dried then pets can go back onto the grass, but not suitable for livestock, as its states on the box. Brilliant stuff.. I have had to use it twice on the stubborn stuff..

Resolva 24 is amazing.  I had tried 4 other brands on the dandelions in my garden and they continued to grow but resolva 24 literally had them dying in24 hours.  It really is gardening made easy.
