The time has come when I knew my 8 year old lap top had really had its day,so off to currys today.I am really backward at this whole technology thing so when I go in I really have to concentrate,I did say sorry to the assistant and basically asked him to 'speak slowly'.He knew what he was up against when I asked if the keyboard was wireless, what actually gave it its power?
Batteries! wow!
I now have a wireless mouse too,but instructions say,not on glass, rough surface, dark colours or multi colours. So that rules out my saluki mouse mat,if they are going to be that picky you would think they would just supply one that they do like?
ok, this thing is touch screen too,not that I need it but it seemed like a good idea at the time and its fun.
Spent 40 minutes on the phone to sort out my wireless broadband,so now, I have no wires, and it really helps not having to run them under the carpet.
All in all I am overjoyed with this new computer,I finally feel I have progressed, i feel up to date and very modern and really it wasn't that hard to set up,just wanted to share,

Sounds lovely - have fun.
Will say just one thing though - we had a wireless mouse which wasn't rechargable......big mistake...........ate batteries like a real one would cheese !. If yours isn't rechargeable I would remove the batteries if you aren't going to be using the mouse for some time as if the pc is on the mouse will still be using energy. Who knows, this was some time ago and there wasn't an on/off switch on the mouse, maybe there is now.
We went back to good old wired mouse in the end !.
