hi i was hoping some one on here could give me some info. i have researched in to getting a plummer terrier and i am trying to find a breeder that may have some pups up for sale or coming through? i am looking for a bitch and i am willing to travel to collect many thanks peter.

As they are a sporting/working terrier you may find the best place would be in a magazine such at Hare & Hound or perhaps Farmers Weekly.

Think there are one of two clubs and they may be able to help - you should find them if you search google.

Hi, as Nova says, there are two clubs.

The PTA (Plummer Terrier Assn) and the Plummer Terrier. The latter was set up after Brian Plummer was expelled from the original breed club. As founder/inventor of the breed, he took the decision to perform an outcross as an attempt to wipe out some of the faults that had started to appear in the original lines. For this he was expelled and set up a new club- the Plummer Terrier. So, you'll have to read up on each and decide which way you want to go, but either club will advise on breeders. Both have a website.

Don't want to tell you something you already know but they are not ideal as a family pet although some will be. They are a working terrier and as such should be very active and feisty - of course - some will be and some will be more able to settle into a home, I mention it because you do not say why you want this breed and it is important that you tell the breeder if you are looking for a family pet or a ratter that way they can steer you in the right direction and both you and the pup will have a better life.

if you get a copy of "country mans weekly" (any week will do) there is an ad in there every week advertising the breed club and contacts for info.
