if you have just bought a car and you have the little green slip that says you have bought it ,as the seller now sends off the log book, can you still tax your car if you do not have the full log book in your possesion only the little green slip off the log book, i have looked on the net but can't find any info on it , it is for my daughter any help thanks

I think the little green slip you have is called a new keeper supplement,if I'm correct then  that will allow you to tax the car at the post office.

I've just had a look on the DVLA website to check and it states that the supplement slip is allowable.

On the home page click on vehicle information,then click on "how to tax your vehicle" That will lead you to "taxing your vehicle without a reminder" Sorry I have never got the hang of creating a link lol.

Edited to add the green slip is the new keeper supplement and the post office retain it to send to DVLA.

found it and printed it off thankyou we spent ages before looking for it
off to dvla tomorrow for her tax disc once again thankyou
