Hi, I was grooming my girl today, raking out undercoat, when I found a yukky patch about the size of a 2p coin. Vet closed at 12, so rang the out of hours vet, who told me to go to P.A.H. & get anti-bacterial powder. I had to clip away some of her coat & cleaned the patch up & applied the powder. Tonight Ive just done it again, but the patch of skin is wet & making the powder set like concrete. By cleaning it (with previously boiled & cooled water) I'm just keeping it wet :( Anyone had a problem like this? I'm scared it's going to become infected.

It sounds like wet eczema and using the antibac powder is a good way of helping it, but once its on leave it alone only add extra powder if it seeps through. It will eventually flake off like a scab and the skin should be clean and dry underneath once this happens.

Thank you. I should have checked in here before cleaning it this morning. It doesn't look as red this morning, but it's clean & powdered, so I'll keep an eye on it. Have you any idea how long it will take to heal? Thanks again.
