Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Class question

Hello... I'm confused again (it doesn't take much).

MAIDEN For dogs which have not won a Challenge Certificate or a First Prize at an Open or Championship Show (Minor
Puppy, Special Minor Puppy, Puppy and Special Puppy classes excepted, whether restricted or not).

Can a dog enter Maiden if they've won a first prize at an open show, but no other dogs turned up?  (only applicable to one of my dogs now after Melvin winning a post-grad class yesterday... brag brag brag brag :-))

Thanks,

Clare

Yes, even if they're the only entrant it counts as a win, and so puts them out of Maiden.

Thank you very much JG, I know sometimes there have to be others entered for things to count.  So winning a 1st place in anything other than some form of puppy class, regardless of how many entrants, prevents you from entering maiden.  How complicated!

Yes & it is quite easy

Probably very simple, but I made it much more complicated in my head as I generally expect not to understand show-related things straight away!
