Yes at a cost of £15 each...much cheaper to do your own plus the Champions are not highlighted in Red as they are when either handwritten or computer printed.

The Kennel Club ones are expensive, when you consider that they're printed on a bit of yellow paper.

I produce mine on Word, and buy a nice quality card, and I think they are much nicer than the KC ones.

I don't know if they have a website, not looked, but with a photo on the front of either mum or litter, its a lovely touch.

I will only accept a pedigree from the KC that way you know its genuine (well of sorts) if the breeder has been honest with them.  A hand done one would be nice alongside it.  I have enjoyed getting photoes of the line, to maybe have some already owuld be nice.  Pics of parents also came with the pedigree.

Don't quite understand this - I do my own pedigrees, and obviously I register my own pups with the KC, as I put the names of the parents down for the KC Reg,  and then put these names on the pedigree how is the KC printing it out any more likely to be genuine?  I think the KC get quite enough form me for doing nothing with Affix maintnenance fees, ABS fees and doint very little with puppy registrations, so I am not at all inclined to add to the coffers by paying for pedigrees too.  If someone trusted me enough to buy one of my pups then why would they doubt my veracity with a pedigree, when it has been generated by my information anyway?

Side tracking slightly, I have recently found that many pet people are clueless about reading the KC pedigrees.  Have had 2 or 3 people wanting  help and advice about their dogs - anything from finding  a stud dog  to tracing the breeder of a rescue, in each case the owners have not been able
to work out how to read the KC pedigree, never had this with the home done ones with everything in little labelled boxes.

Also agree with you Gwen, it the parents are as on the KC cert why would their ancestors not be correct as they are easily checked for example by using the KC health checker.  If a buyer really wants a KC one they can purchase it at time of transferring the registration to their names.

Frankly I can't see why the KC reg certificate can't incorporate several generations of pedigree like the FCI ones do where you have four generations included on the registration document.

I agree Gwen a lot of people, myself included with my eyesight issues, find the American style pedigrees the KC use harder to sort out visually.  the box style ones are much easier.

Also with your won pedigrees you can customise with additional info.  For example all mine have the dogs Hip score and DNA results printed on, as well as titled dogs in red.  I include stud book numbers, so for those in the know they will know that a non titled dogs was still of a certain quality.

Sorry misunderstood this.  The parents have to be correct for it to be reight.  As we all said before where a false Sire is on, then its wrong.  you have to trust your breeder either way.  It would still be nice to have a home made one but unless you and trust the breeder you can't be sure.   The majority of people who buy a dog don't know the breeder before they enquire about buying a dog.

Well KC pedigree or no KC pedigree you won't know if the parents are as the breeder says unless you get DNA parentage testing done on the pup and parents.  In the majority of cases the pups will be by an outside stud, so that brings in another person, so even less likelihood of falsification.

To be honest anyone respectable in any breed would not think to falsify parentage, why would they?  What is to be gained.  Certainly in my breed stud fees are the same for the breed record holder and a dog being used for the first time, and anything in between, the current price of a puppy.

The parents are the parents and most puppy buyers wouldn't care one way or another as to them they are just names, the only ones they know are the Mum and any other relatives they have met,  and then they can't remember who is who.

Many times I have people sat her trying to work out who is who in relation to the pups, and if Mum has dried up sometimes they are unsure which is Mum (thought the big nipples and lack f coat should make it obvious, LOL).

I always find it strange that people ask how do I tell the dogs apart. 

It's not even as if they are totally self coloured as such like when I had my all black Groenendael.  I know they are all grey with black mask, but that still allows for a fair bit of variation between individuals.

They always think my oldie is a puppy as she is the smallest, and are amazed the big lump is her daughter.

I too do my own. I worked a format out in Excell years ago and keep a blank to fill in. Very handy as my computer carefully remembers names too and offers a selection when typing the first couple of letters for me to choose from. I put pictures of Mum and Dad on the front and hip/elbow scores, show tiltles and temp test/KC good cit awards too. I go to a lot of time and trouble doing them. I would be offended if a puppy byer insisted on a KC one, if they don't trust me enough not to falcify pedigrees then they are not the right owners for my pups. With all the other info like diet sheets, "instructions for use" booklet, puppy pack with all sorts of things, Gwen Bailys book etc... I hope they can see how commited to my puppies I am....after all what else is there to do when puppy watching for the first 3 weeks !!!! Plenty to do after then when the little blighters start to walk...LOL

Its all really good what you do but I'm one who like the 'oficial' version and yes i say that loosly lol.  I would also like your versions to accompay it.

Then you can pay the daylight robbery price of it when you transfer the pup.

I prefer to include useful things for the pups (liek decent collar and lead, vet bed etc) in my puppy pack for the cost.

Hi, l used to get mine from Wertune. They were done on  parchment paper and looked really professional. I can't remember what l paid for them, but l do remember being very impressed with them. I also used to get my duplicate, receipt books from them. They were really, really good. They had my affix, address, telephone number, a space for the worming dates, and at the bottom of the page, a tear off strip - given to the new owner -  of the amount paid as the deposit. All very professional.

That made me smile. People would often ask how l could tell my Boxers apart. I used to look at them in total amazement. TELL THEM APART? I would have been able to pick them out in a roomful of 5,000 Boxers. It's the same as saying, "How do you tell your children apart?"
