Topic Dog Boards / Showing / non entered dogs

Please excuse my lack of knowledge. I shall be getting my new pup soon and would like to attend some shows bringing her with me. I know I need to have her as a non entered dog or similar terminology but does that mean as Ihave noticed on one show schedule that she cant stay with me while I am spectating and must be in a doggy creche / Hope that makes sense.
As I said sorry for my ignorance I hope to be doing some showing with her so her it will eb a big learning curve

Most Champ shows do not have a Not For Competition class so you would not be able to take her in. Many open show do however and so yes she could come in if entered NFC, but she will have to be 6 months (4months in a few places)

I know she needs to b 6months old for showing does the same apply for notshowing ?and how long in advance do I have to do it

Sadly yes nfc still need to be 6 months unless old breed shows when its 4 months.

You need to send off same time as entries closing so depends on date entries close :)

Didnt know that! what a shame as it would be a great place to socialise and get them used to crowds of both dogs and people.

Yes a shame

But you might be able to take them to small fun dog shows (of the town park/village fete variety) that aren't under KC rules? That would be just as good for socialisation, perhaps better if there is also live music, fancy dress, fairground rides, sports and games etc.

I take my 11 yr old as NFC at every champ and open show I go to (which is every other week).  It costs though!

I know this is not correct but the amount of puppies I see at general open shows is very high, many of which are under the age of NFC. No one batters an eyelid and they get carried or walked into the show ground with no issues.
I personally think its very helpful to take them along to a few shows so they start to get used to the whole atmosphere at a young age so not to frighten them or over awe them when they are old enough to get into the ring.

That's exactly my reasoning too oh well can't go against the rules will have to work within them

I thought some general shows allowed over 4 months as nfc? Didn't realise it was only some breed club shows. With both my current puppy and her mother I entered them nfc with the correct date of birth so they had the option of contacting me if they weren't happy with an underage nfc entry and took them to an open show at about 5 or 5 1/2 months, so they could get the experience of the atmosphere. Never had a problem with it! Oops!
