Hi,one of my miniture JRT bitches is 11mths old and had her 1st season in January.Since then, her undercarriage has been 'flabby' and full,as if puppies were iminent, which is impossible.I did wonder if she was having a phantom, but is showing no nesting tendencies or any other symptoms.Has anyone come across this before, and will she go back to normal without veterinary help?

Sounds like a minor phanton, Just keep an eye out that she does not get a hard teat (Mastitis) and give her a little less food and a little more excersise and she should get over it pretty fast.

Sounds like she will probably produce milk!  I sympathise.  One of my maidens is feeling swollen round the teats after her first season.  I've cut her protein down for a while.

Yes,she's full of milk today.

:-(

Up her exercise.  If she starts "mothering" toys, hard though it is, jolly her out of it.  Or the phantom will last longer.  Reduce the protein (which you would normally up, to help milk production.)
