On some walks I find it necessary to carry poo for longish distances and, if I need to put all three dogs back on their leads before finding a bin, it's easy to run out of hands.
I'm looking for a poo bag with a clip to fix to a belt or lead
It needs to be a washable fabric
I'd prefer that it is only as big as the contents, ie not bulky when empty
I need to carry up to 5 poos!
I'd quite like an extra pocket for spare bags and/or hand wipes
It doesn't have to be specially made for the job (ooh pardon the pun) and indeed the few that I've seen seem a bit expensive and in most some cases a bit small. The dicky bag for instance also seems a bit over designed. I looked all over Crufts but this make was the only one I saw, and only on one stand. You'd think there would be a good market for something like this! Someone once recommended a bag designed for climbing as a treat bag so I'd be happy with a crossover product.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Many thanks
Sorry carnt help, i take an extra carrier bag and then put all bags of poo into one bag.
There is a chap in our village who carry's a seaside bucket and spade lol.

What about a bum bag???
I use it for treats and putting the pooh bags in!!!
Although when we were on holiday we left the dogs outside with the boys and went into a pub to get a drink for us all. My partner turned to me and wispered that the women in front stinks like s**t. I went a bit red and had to say to himn that it wasnt her it was me!!!! As I had one in my bum bag LMAO
Lea :)

What about a nylon drawstring bag - the ones you can get for gym kit etc? I'm sure you can get them at the pound shop or matalan (I use the matalan ones for dirty laundry when we are away). Really cheap - easily washed and can be stuffed in your pocket til you need it.
this kind of thing

I just dangle them from my little finger on my right hand (and I walks 5 medium size dogs at a time, most of who prefer to save their output for walks), or if not likely to come across a bin for a long time take a carrier bag to put them in and again carry them in the other hand, or better get OH to do so ;)
Don't think I would like them bumping against me from a clip or attached to a belt, prefer to hold them away from me, LOL

It depends on the size of dog, I can't imagine getting a GSD poo into a bum bag !!!! I used to carry a tesco bag with one loop on my belt and the other free so that I could drop all individual poo bags into the 1 big bag and dispose of all together at the end of the walk.

My local council provides poo bags with handles like mini carrier bags so I tie them and loop them round my wrist. Theres no end to how much poo I can carry lol
How about a wee rucksack and you can carry them on your back. Hopefully that means you will be upwind of the poo.
>It depends on the size of dog, I can't imagine getting a GSD poo into a bum bag !!!!
I would say it more depends on what you feed it, my raw fed Setters (30kg+) do tiny little amounts of poo, I see more come out of the little Westie that I walk !!
Im pretty sure you can get special bags for poo, and they come in different sizes, ive seen them at Crufts, cant remember what they are called though.

Seaside bucket and spade PMSL :-D
We use carrier bags and double tie them and then slip the lead through the loop where the handle is tied and let the girls carry it :-)

i use a muksak costs about £12 waterproof and smell proof with a sealed lid. i manage 4 poos in it as long as you let air out before tying your bags. its great and goes over your shoulder

I carry them in my hand ..if I have a couple of bags I put them all into one bag until I find a bin.
Dont like the idea of people thinking I pong..at least if they see the bag they know where its coming from....>BG<

Makes me realise how lucky we are being so close to fields!
Unless mine leave their 'presents' on a footpath (in which case they are moved either using boot or stick) then these delightful little presents get left to 'party' with the horse/ cow/ sheep/ fox/ badger presents!!!

This thread has reminded me of a story a fellow CD member(won't name) told me.
They were out walking their dogs, carrying a supermarket carrier bag full of poo, when a kid on a bike rode up behind them, grabbed the bag and rode off!! I'd have loved to have seen their face when they looked inside LOL.

I use a small tubular bag with a draw string that normally comes with one of those light shower jackets that you can pack away into. Have to take so much with me, money, phone, tissues, bags etc that if I'm not wearing a jacket I just don't have enough pockets! So loop the bag through my belt loops, and I'm hands free. Yes it's washable, does jingle against me as I walk, but do empty at nearest bin and it beats having to carry it!
Some great suggestions here, thank you. It's helpful to have some other heads on a problem :)
In my case it's not every walk but some places we go you can walk for ages without bins and leaving it is not an option (the beach for one). I'm also a bag swinger, can't help it, it's part of the 'great to be out' feeling that comes from walking the dogs in lovely surroundings. I'm walking along minding my own business then all of a sudden I realise I've catapulted poo into the middle distance cos the feeble handle has snapped!
...yes, I need portable pockets too. It's easier in the cold weather when you have a fleece but not so easy in t-shirts is it?
Thanks again all xx

> I'd quite like an extra pocket for spare bags
I have one of
these (with the blue trim). It has a velcro fastening, so mine is fastened to Busters harness, it's like a dinky little rucksack on him :)
Got mine from Pets at home. I don't bother with the proper roll of poop bags to re-fill, I just use cheap fragranced nappy-sacks and stuff a load into the bag.
I also swing my bag of poop - somehow it's very compelling :) - I also do it so all the other people can see that I actually bother to pick up my dog-poop, unlike the many that leave them around to be trod on

Must admit, I've never sent one flying yet, but if I did I wouldn't be able to move for the fits of laughter! :-D
ETA, I've been thinking about some sort of clip to hang a full poop-bag on too, it leaves the hands free. I wonder if those clips that you can get, to go on a pram handle to hook shopping bags too, would be any good. Maybe you could clip that to your belt/trouser top and hang the poop off - the only worry I'd have with that, is the poop baning against my leg and releasing it's...ummm....'aroma'!

No worse than using it as a hand warmer in my pocket on those cold winter days!
> No worse than using it as a hand warmer in my pocket on those cold winter days!
LOL, guilty of that - but as long as you don't move your coat to much if your passing a person - they wont smell you have a pocket of fresh warm dog-pop. LOL, LOL :-D So, glad i'm not he only one!
we have 3 bullmastiff that would rather go when out on walk so we carry the poo bags plus a tescos carrier bag the poo get picked up into the poo bags then any poo bags get put into the tesco carrier bag and disposed of at the end of the walk
VERY nice - but why so expensive!?!

cant understand why houndsak is so expensive when its essentially a backpack with a tupperwear box to put your bags in!
what about a proper dog backpack. Lots of dogs love to carry their own backpacks and inside you can take water, collapsable bowls, whatever you want. Just make sure the weight is even on both sides. Properly bagged, you could pop that in as well and they can carry their own poop home. :)
there was someone at crufts selling some container that you put the poo in and it clipped to your belt, it was made of neoprene stuff i think that is right the material wet suits are made out of, and it was ridigid and they came in all bright colours, i am trying to find the name of the company , she also advertised in the dog papers thought i would put it on hear maybe jog someones memory before i found it in the crufts stuff i have

I think you'll find it was the "Dicky Bag" which was mentioned in the first post.

That looks like a good idea and even better than my little bag. Could also be clipped to my belt loops or from the lead that I wear across my chest when their off lead.
I have an old over the shoulder handbag that I put mine in :0)
> I think you'll find it was the "Dicky Bag"

The problem I have with the Dicky Bag, as mentioned in my first post, is that it's the same size empty as full, it's v expensive, it's over engineered for such an item AND an extra point is that even the large size isn't very big.
Perhaps it should be re branded as the Dicky bag for dinky poo's :) It's cute but not as practical as I'd like
I'm checking out all the suggestions though, many thanks
