if someone could give me the name of the author and title of the books.
many thanks linda.

Hi
I get OD on line so can't look for the ad but I wondered if they might be by Margaret Duckett latest is called "And now a triangle" pretty sure there were 2 previous called "Straight Up and Down" and something like "Take them Round".
I had a look in the OD online shop and couldn't see them but if you contact OD they may be able to give you more details.
If it isn't these there are also some by Sonia Ann(e) Grief about showing but names escape me.
Hope this helps and the compliments of the season to you
Anne :-D
thank you Anne
Had a look in the shops today could`nt find it.So will order from OD.
cheers linda

Hi,
I feel a bit dim on this, but I am also very interested in novels with "dog" base!
I am having no luck locating any of those you mentioned- not even OD! I am in the States, and we just don't seem to have access to many of the dog books that you in the UK do.
Can anyone give me more specific info on UK booksellers that may have these paticular books and others of the same genre? THANKS!
TiaLee
try
Amazon here in the
UK rather than the US version

Hi Tia Lee,
I can't speak with authority on US but I did work in a library here so can give you some authors to look for I hope they are available in US.
1) Joyce Stranger masses of animal books esp dogs
2) Anita Burgh Breeders
3) Amanda Scott she's a vet books have animal background
4) Jilly Cooper Riders Rivals Polo etc all have dogs in them
5) Nop's Trials author escapes me but this one is set in US sheepdog trials
6) Jean Ure Whistle and I'll come kid's book but vey good and a real tear jerker about rescue
Hope that gives you something to go on with
Anne
If you ask in library/bookstore they may have a ref tool called Cumulative Fiction Index which lists novels by subject. Happy Reading :-D

Novels, eh.... :)
Look for Albert Payson Terhune's books (Lad, a dog; etc..) . They're older, but still good imo :) I think they were set in NJ during the 1930's.
There's also the late Victiorian "Beautiful Joe" which caused a lot of Animal cruelty laws to become enacted.
Otherwise, not much out there. It seems that horses get the good books :( :)
There is a series of mysteries that has an owner of westies involved. I've never read them, just seen them on the shelves. They just looked too "cutesy" and "gimicky" to read. Can't help you with the author or title, sorry. I just glanced at them on the library shelves.
Any other fiction with dogs in it out there? I'd love to 'read more about it' :)
toodles

Thanks so much everyone!!
There are a few USA authors, mostly mystery, that center on dogs. I especially recommend Susan Conant(Malemute+) and Laurien Berensen(Standard Poodle+).
But I am constantly hearing of books that we never see over here from all the Brits.
Oh, and that's Don McCaig that wrote the two Nop books- "Nop's trials" and "Nop's Hope". Very excellent reads, both.
TiaLee

Didn't know about Nop's Hope will look out for it, thanks
Anne
