Hi,

I'm in the process of sorting out a website for myself. I've yet to decide on which company/site to use for it as yet, but here is a link to my recent thread on setting one up..

I use homestead and have done for years. Easy to learn how to build it yourself and maintain it

I have used webeden twice (once for the breed club I was secretary for & once for myself) The site is quite easy to use.

There is a great site called Champdogs where you can build your own website. I heard a rumour they were launching a revamp fairly soon and it will be even better than it currently is.

I use dynadot for my domains and hosting. Quite cheap & very reliable. I do web design for myself and friends in my spare time and to earn extra cash to fund my way through uni. However, I know not everyone has the time and inclination to learn basic HTML, CSS etc and would rather just have a 'drag and drop' type website software. There are a few websites people often use to create their own websites, I have never used one but from looking at other websites, I would say it is well worth paying a basic fee for online software rather than going with the free ones. Staples sell a 'Mr Site in a Box' software that includes the first years domain and hosting, as well as some designs to get you going.

I always refer people who are doing a 'DIY' website, to these links to make sure they don't make the same mistakes as people often do.

P.s... Please don't put music on your website! haha

This is the website I use ,it took me years to find one I could do myself and build on as required, it was free for the first 3 months which allowed me to decide whether it was for someone with limited IT skills, I am now into the second paid years subscription.

They keep adding things for you to use at no extra charge.
