Hi
Had the Pups two weeks followed instructions for Pups and gave first dose last night. I then gave Mum her dose as I knew I needed to treat her to. I have then dosed the pups again tonight and two of them have had poorly bellys runny poo and farting.
Is this normal should I have waited before dosing Mum or should it be done at the same time? As they are still on her Milk wandered if this made the dose to much?
Please advise if the runny poo poorly tummy is normal?

Hi,
I use drontal puppy suspension. I used panacur on my very first litter and 7 out 9 were seriously ill, vomiting and runny poo's like water!
Never again....have never had any issues in all the years of using drontal.
I know people on here use panacur with no problems but after my own experience i personally wont use it ever again.
I hope your little ones are better very soon
Hi i wondered about doing mum but decided not to after a discussion. I wonder if pups get reinfected from mums milk also or if it doubles the dose.
Mine went ok without the runs, used panacure as had given it mum before. Worried like mad but everything was ok. Did you weigh the pups beforehand and adjust the dose, mine had a tiny amount. Read on here that runny poop can idicate worms but could have got my wires crossed.
Give them some natural yoghurt to calm the tums down.
Was wondering where you had got to, hope all is going well with puppy's.
Hi,
Pups are doing really well, that is until the 2 got runny pooh - but both seem fine today and none of the others got it. They've gone over doubling their weight in 7 days, opened their eyes last weekend and are now standing up and attempting to walk (with great difficulty on the slippy wood floor which is good fun to watch). Our biggest pup is very vocal and is provoking his brothers and sisters into growling and playing - very sweet. They seem to have become more dog like overnight. Thanks for asking.

I'm one of the people who has never had a problem with Panacur, and have used it for years. If your bitch was done with Panacur during pregnancy, the pups will have been getting some too!
When you start the 3 day course as pups reach 2 weeks, Mum is only dosed for the one day. In my opinion, it hasn't mattered which of the 3 days that I have dosed mum. Are you 100% happy about working out your dose, and accurate weighing of pups?

May be fun, but would say, watch those legs slipping. I always give my pups rugs to grip when learning to walk.
I too have used Panacur on Mum and puppies for many years and am too worried to change as never a problem.
My vet said it was an extremely mild wormer.
and I would worry about the slipping too.

Hi
Used it again last night bums fine I think. Just the two got a bit explosive the one night. all done till week 5 :)
I have just upgraded the whelping room to a room with a extension (secure run) :)
They have vet bed in there room and paper on the tiles they can go in. They are very cute but is becoming apparant the first two and half weeks may be easy compared to the rest as Mum has done all the hard work. Think well be cleaning up after them for a while now.
Mum has been good but a little laid back at times I assume this is naturel more so now as we are starting to approach solid food start date?
Any way they are very vocal when they wake up now mouthing each other trying to walk and wobble around have a feed then plop of back to sleep, very cute.
Still havent picked our pup but have a couple in mind :)
I love watching them start to play and walk. You might still need a towel down or something on the paper. Starting weaning today as they are more interested in mums food and enjoyed licking the taste off my fingers.

i think your right :) Not had much so far, the odd miss that mum refused to do as she didn't get it out. I've noticed they try and get out of the puppy area to go to toilet when they've gone themselves.
