Morning.
Tilly is doing some serious nesting, paper shredding and has the runs.
She slso has a clearish discharge ive seen on the mat.
Think we are close :-)
I checked her whelping box, and moved some of the paper, shes not happy and has gone back in to rearrange it again. ( her box is next to my bed).
I am calm but feeling nervous.

Just out of curiosity, how long did your girls shred before whelping?
day 56 here (late night at the moment so close to 57) my girl isnt keen on the whelping box and no real signs on nesting yet. goodluck :)

mine only scraping bed seriously the night before whelping (we had a lovely daytime whelping :) ) she did a little scraping the previous night but only the night before did it get really bad.

The shredding only started when she was in established labour, it is suppose to be their way of coping with the pain.
Day 59 for me. Had panting all night and then 5am a big yelp and there was a sac hanging out. Unfortunatly there were no contractions so took her to the vet for oxytocin which only caused mild contractions. The 1st pup really big and took an hour and a half to be pulled out by the vet. But, and get ready for this.... pup is alive and kicking!! second came out quite soon after but the 3rd is also big and I have had to leave mum at the vets for a c-section. Vet thinks another two still inside. So I have an hour to wait and see if last remaining pups and mum are ok and a further hour or so before I can bring my brave baby home. Mum was fantastic, she wasn't stressed at all except a few times when the vet was trying to move things around inside. Hope everything goes a lot smoother for you guys. It really upsets an annoys me that with all my preperation, care and attention (and sleepless nights) this happens but then other people (I'm thinking of a friend of a friend) do nothing except mate thier dogs and everything goes fine for them. Sorry about my rant but I'm feeling a bit bitter and very very tired

Sorry things didn't go to plan, I hope everyone comes home safe and well.
It is maddening when you are so careful and have this happens and others who couldn't give a fig sail through no problems.
hope everything goes alright xxx and please keep us updated! i start sleeping out with my girl tomorrow night :)

I hope you bring home mum and pups all well, it isn't fair is it...
Fingers crossed for you xxx
We have discharge here and bed scratching a little but still a way to go i hope.
My girl didn't start scratching and digging till she was almost pushing.
Hope alls ok foxyroxy x
Thanks everyone. lare73 sorry i hijacked your thread. xx

All done, snd ok except one keeps crying, fed nively but cries all the time, is this ok?
>The times on the forum are all to pot
That means you haven't changed the time in your Options since the clocks went forward. :-)
congratulations. Hope they are all doing well xx

Thanks I have sorted it.
My pups took a couple of hours to settle because they were getting washed so vigourously they couldn't latch on to feed.
Have you checked their mouths and does the pup have a suck reflex, if they are OK then assist the pup onto a nipple and hold there till they have a good grip.

Some of us have had all the preparation and sleeplessness, and it has happened to us many times.
