yes i have and he was right that she was in pup and he said she was having 3 and she did, but i have been told a few things recently that say he has been wrong quite often. but to be honest he has never been wrong for me.

hi Clare ..what I am interested in is the scanning so early on at 22- 24 days....how reliable is it???
- By WestCoast Date 25.03.11 14:47 UTC
I've always been able to scan with canine doppler at 21 days.  Reliable count at 28 days.  I wonder what Mr Shea is using these days?

I have my own scanner and can always pick pups up at 21 days.

We go to our vets for scanning, if we get one of the young nurses we've no chance of seeing anything but there is one lady vet in there who can scan at 21 days and give you some good images.

Hi we had our female scanned by Keith in Jan this year, he says what he can see on that day, many bitches can and do reabsorb some pups, he saw 3 on our scan, she reabsorbed 2, we always have and always will use Keith.

Only used him once so far told none and he was right LOL!

With scans that early, reabsorption at a later date is always a big risk, so why bother... I doubt Keith has  been wrong, I use him personally, I would just say perhaps the the litters in question have been lost. Mind you, if folk were told no pups, but then there was, well, that would be an entirely different matter. Why the need to scan so early anyway, what's the rush ? I don't have scans to confirm pregnancy as a rule, just the ovulation scan.

I too think this is far too early to scan ...friend told no puppies when recently scanned at this early stage although her behaviour/body changes is telling a different story which is now causing the owner to consider having her re scanned in a few days of course she now may be having a phantom !

Im having keith come to scan my girl on friday she will be 30 days. I think she has caught but want to confirm so i can plan and give my waiting list the good news.
