We used to boil it and boy did it stink! my husband used to say ''I hope that's not my dinner cooking!! LOL
Thanks for the help.
I used to buy lights (lungs) and melts for my Afghan in the 60s. Many butchers used to make 'pet mince' for their customers dogs and sell it very cheaply. It was lights, melts and any fat that they'd cut off the other meat all minced together. We used to feed it with wholemeal biscuit and a spoonful of SA37! But that's when things were simple and little processing and certainly no GM stuff inclded. :(

Our butcher supplies pet mince. I try not to think about what's in it but the dogs love it.

My butcher makes dog mince, not minced to finely and I have seen them make it.
Beef, Lamb, chicken meat and offal, no pork. Cost £1 a kilo.
It's a vitamin and mineral supplement that was in either tablet or powder form. I haven't used it for many years so I'm not sure if it's still around. :)
Do you cook the butchers mince?

No longer available apparently - there is a substitute but can't remember what it's called!

gosh i have been around longer than I thought then. My first gsd pup had sa37 added to its food and yes lights and melts although never eaten were talked about

Oh Boy! I can remember that! But then, I am a golden oldie. I had forgotten about SA37 but recognised it right away.
(I'm not really old, I just do a lot of reading!) :-p
