So last litter I used Lactol as do most of the people I know in my breed.  But have been hearing more about the other two on this forum the past few months.

What are the benefits/drawbacks of each please and thanks - ie why do you use the one you use and why do you prefer it to the others.

Thanks bunches!

We use RC Babydog milk, found it really good, pups have never had upset tummies on it

lactol for me

I like Nutrolac, it's based on goat's milk rather than cow's milk. I think that makes it less likely to cause allergies. Or so the received wisdom has it.

I've used Lactol and Welpi, but have promised myself that, if ever I breed another litter, I am going to try Nutrilac.

Simply because Brainless raves about it!  :-)

Yes I've been pleased with it for the last two litters. The bitches did well on it too and it doesn't seem to make them loose.

You know what, I've found two different products called almost the same - I wonder which one Brainless likes!

There's this one:

also this one:

I've looked at them both.  It very much seems that I got the spelling wrong, because I am absolutey positive that the URL I saved from Brainless, is your first one.

LOL!

Curiousity got the better of me, and I just searched for the favourites I saved from Brainless.

Most definitely the first one!  :-)

I knew there was another one but couldn't remember

So what is the difference???

Definitely Nutrolac from Animal Health, I used it cause Brainless did :-) pups mum & other dogs loved it. They were doing a free postage offer at Crufts might be worth asking if they'd still do.

Has anyone tried Esbilac? (think that's how it's spelt)

Just did a google search and looks like some of the wildlife places use it for orphaned animals.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts - still happy to hear of people's experiences with other things, but looking like Nutrolac might be worth a look in.  It's also a really good price at Animal Health.  Price not being a factor in my decision, but I thought it would be more expensive.
