hi wonder if someone has advice my friend has 2 females who have been  to the same stud dog before she has one of them in heat ready for mating the female is basically handing him it on a plate but he just is not interested my friend said it seems like he wants to but is scared of the bitch as she did snap at him on day 11 of her cycle when she was not ready she's on day 13 now and my friend would like any advice she has never come across this before

An experienced stud dog won't show interest if a bitch doesn't smell right.  One of my boys will sniff and walk away if a girl isn't ready.  Bear in mind, a bitch will act flirty and present herself long before she is really ready.

An inexperienced dog may well be put off by a bitch snapping.

Has your friend had a premate test done?  Lots of bitches offer it up before they are genuinely ready.

My dog will sniff and if not ready he just sits down looking at me as if to say 'nope sorry not ready, not wasting my time'  to be honest even a grumbling bitch wouldn't put him off if she was ready.
