Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Panting Occasionaly Even Though Pups Arrived
- By panicbuttonuk [gb] Date 22.03.11 00:07 UTC
Hi

Pups arrived Sunday through out the day. Whilst Mum was pregnant she would pant from time to tome even if wasn't that hot etc.

Now she has the pups at times (not all the time) she is laying/sitting there panting, is this normal. she doesn't always have all the pups on her so shouldn't be to hot. just want to check in case its any kind of signal.

perfectly normal, there will be discomfort from the uterus shrinking down, and of course she will get hot too.

It isn't always temperature!   Bitches pant with pain.  And her uterus is still contracting.

It will be for some time yet.

I am always worried!  I feel so awful that it is me that put her in the family way, so it's me that gave her the pain.  I feel so guilty.  :-(

Sorry that maybe sounded as if I am not worried,of course I am what I meant is I know it can be quite normal for a bitch to pant for sometime afterwards. They are just like babies and you are right it does make you feel guilty especially when their little faces are looking at you not knowing what's going on inside them. It's a huge commitment that needs 100% dedication.x
