Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Restaurant in Morecambe Allowing Dogs

GOing to a show tomorrow.  Remember years ago reading about a restaurant in Morecambe that allowed dogs, can anyone remember the name or where it is.  I've found two but don't think that these are the ones as I think it was someone involved in the dog world that had the restaurant.

There was a cafe belonging to some whippet exhibitors right on the front.  I can't remember what it was called, and it's a few years since I've been.  It had a sign outside that said that dogs were welcome.

I think it was called the bridge cafe but I,m not sure if it is still under same ownership.

Hope you had a successful day show - wise :-)  I was there with my pup at her very first show.  No breed classes but she did me proud by winning AV Working Puppy, was 2nd in AV Minor Puppy and 4th in AV Bred by Exh.  Took it all in her stride and made lots of new human friends.  You're right about the weather though.  It was bloomin' awful :-(

Wish I'd known as I saw you!  Yep I was there with my hairy Spanish Water Dog Calida.  She got best AVNSC GUndog with some really nice dogs against her so I was very pleased with my day.  Of course didn't get anywhere at the end!

I saw you win your classes too!  You puppy is a real show-off :-)  Does it give lessons to fidgety boxers?? ;-)

Umm yesterday was a good day she is usually the entertainment at shows LOL.  Clicker trained the stand though in literally 3 minutes!

sorry to change the subject, but How do you clicker train to stand?

Were any german shepherds at the show I never realised it was on until you posted about the cafe.

If the dog comes towards you and stands, click and then throw a treat so that they have to move away. Keep doing this and eventually they will know that is what you require of them.  With Calida once she realised what I wanted I then added the word watch, as I feel sit and stand are to close.  She's really good at standing just the movement we have to get now as sometimes she gets her daft head on.

Yep, there were a couple of GSD's.
