Well what have you done this morning I have reunited a dog with is owner..Walking Stanley up the airfield thought I saw a deer put him on the lead kept walking saw these two ears pop up saw it was a big dog, kept walking kept an eye on the dog brought him back home went back and found the dog after some hunting about took it to my vets, she did have a chip and had been missing since last night 9.30 and she came from about 4 miles away and she was an Estrela Mountain Dog (in season)so good job she had a chip cause if I had brought her home...Stanley would have thought it was the prize for going to Cruft's !! My good dead for today Lovley!

That breed have a habit of not liking strangers, so brilliant you were able to get hold of her. We had one missing for over a year around our area before she was picked up..

"That breed have a habit of not liking strangers" really she was shy and would not let me put anything over her head..if I had not spoted her you would have not have found her very well camoflaged.. I feel so chuffed!

Well done Mrs B and Stanley...how did you manage to catch her if she would not allow you to put a lead over her head!! Just goes to show how important chips are. Hope some other Romeo did not have his wicked way with her before you found her...mind you if one had I expect it would still have been with her....hoping for more of the same ;-)
I picked up a male (Very obviously still intact!) very happy friendly Staffy the other day playing chicken with the cars on a very busy road, had a collar but no tag so off to the dog warden, he wasn't chipped either. He looked in excellent condition though. He was lucky he did not get run over.

She had a small collar on so got hold of that had the flexi lead with me, just looked and her mum is on champdogs breeder list her name is Lexie the dog that is! she is lovley Yep the chip saved a lot of time and heartache, I did think what about if she has been with a boy but like you said he would have still been hanging around, gonna have to watch Stan the Man up there for a few days when he gets a wiff of where she has been!wait till he get's in his car!!

good on you. I'm sure her owners will be delighted and relieved to have her home safely.

I recently reunited the same JRT youngster with it's owner...twice!  Second time, I was rather cross with the owner and told him that he really needed to be a lot more careful as it was a miracle that the dog hadn't been killed on the road or simply taken by someone else. However, there are now posters up around our area as the same little dog has been missing for about a month. I feel very sorry for the dog and hope he has come to no harm but  i can't really muster any sympathy for the stupid owner.

Well done you! Haven't done anything particularly noteworthy today but I did once find a lost Border terrier and took him home and phoned his owner.

Well done! I found a male Rottie on a slip road to the A11 a couple of years ago. Stopped with another driver ,who was scared of it! Used treats to lure it away from the fast traffic, then my OH came and we loaded it into my car. Found out it was local and put it back into it's pen in the garden when it tried to attack the fence as we were in the garden! At least it was safe back home.
