You may recall I had a thread on here some time back about which foods to feed
I started with Orijen but then bought a big bag and my Pug went off it, then tried Taste of the Wild and he did exactly the same. Then I went onto Acana and this seemed to work, but after buying my second large bag he won't touch it - does anyone else have this problem
He's 18 months. BTW my King Charles has now issue with any of these and will eat anything I put infront of him!
Should I buy smaller bags of more variety and change it more often to keep him interested?
His tea time meal of Fish4Dogs salmon mousse or Naturediet goes down a treat every time, its kibble I have an issue with
Ideas?

I really wouldn't be changing the dried food as much you are suggesting, how about keeping him on the dried food he recently liked but mixing the variety with the wet mix i.e. add some left over cooked veg from your dinner and mix in, sometimes wet the food with warm water to change the texture, or mixing in pilchards (tinned fish). We sometimes add raw veg like carrots or brussels as the dog love these and scrambled eggs or natural yogurt.
So the kibble stays the same but the wet mix usually as natural as possible or just fresh left overs always changes
Why not just feed him Naturediet and the salmon mousse if that's what he likes? Seems simple to me :)

He has you well trained doesn't he? :-) :-)
I have toys, and find them fussier than my Collies, but they have to have what I decide. I do mix my dry and wet feeds though. Have you tried the mousse or Naturediet all mixed together? I mix mine so well that they have no choice but to eat the dry food.
And I don't keep altering my complete dry feed.
I thought it was best to feed a mixture of complete wet and complete dry (seperate meals though)
Do some people feed complete wet meals as both meals instead of offering kibble?
Have tried soaking it and it doesn't work, he really has very short tiny teeth so i'm not sure if the kibble is too much for him to chew - but then again he woulnd't be able to get through the tripe sticks he has as a treat now and again - haha
He really is a little monkey - perhaps i'll go back to one of the others and start mixing a bit of wet in as well - is this safe to do this, I thought I had read somewhere that mixing 2 complete foods, 1 wet and 1 dry together was wrong....?
Mine are on RC and I mix wet food in with it just to make it that bit tastier...never had a problem doing this.

My toydogs are all fed Nature Diet ONLY. :)
Well I think I may try that then seen as though they both love fish4dogs mousse and naturediet
Thanks for your help

Like toffeecrisp, I have never had a problem mixing the two - and can't quite make out why you think that you musn't mix wet and dry.
I like them to have dry in addition to wet, to help the teeth cleaning.

I have been told on numerous occassions not to mix complete food with anything else. Because complete is exactly that and by adding anything else, you could possibly over-do some vit/minerals. Been told that from a few vets, and the RC rep, the Pedigree rep, etc.
Now, just because I have been told that, doesn't mean I do it!! I give complete as little as possible. I feed my dogs fish, meat, bones, scraps and if I don't have enough for everyone, complete food. Dogs in the wild would never have had a complete diet! They would survive on carrotts which would be their tea for 2 days then maybe a mouse or a dead bird, etc. Why on earth do we fuss so much? Did anyone see the Caroline Quentin thing last night about the strays in Mumbai? The dogs in the streets surviving on rubbish were fatter and happier than the dogs in the kennels(rescued)they were thin and miserable and they were getting good, constant grub!!
