Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Lambs Lung?
- By Lacy Date 05.03.11 15:20 UTC
Have been given a large bag of lamb lungs. OH bless him has started to cook some of them, the smell is awful!. He thinks as he was told to we should cook the rest, but I've said we should feed raw as we do with bones & meat.  So as you've guessed my question is, is it ok to feed raw lung and have any of you done it. Many thanks.

Yes, it's fine, I've given lamb and beef lunts to mine before, I think it's referred to as 'lites' from memory.

Yes that's what my OH calls them. Thank you, I'm not normally squeamish, but the process of boiling, cooling & cutting up in various stages around the kitchen is sight I don't recommend. So will now cut the rest into smaller portions and bag up. Kitchen door & window wide open and hoping I can get rid of the smell before guests return from their walk!!!

The worst is if the voicebox is still attached; when the boiling water expands the air in the lungs (lights) the pan bleats ...
