I mated my girl 3 weeks last Thursday and Sunday. This morning I noticed a brownie red colour discharge. I have had several litters and not noticed this before. I am taking her to vet for a check to-night but can anyone else say what it might be.

This happened with my last litter. Took her to the vet, he said nothing to worry about as she was fine in herself. Discharge then increased a LOT and became black so we went back and she was put onto a course of antibiotics. She had 9 healthy pups. :)

Thanks for your reply. I suppose I am looking for reassurance. Hope she is OK.
I normally have the CHV jab but decided not to this time as in my last litter I lost a puppy at 14 weeks with one kidney not developing. I became paranoid about it being caused by the jabs and now am regretting it I suppose.

Took her to vet who has done a scan and pregnancy confirmed. He advised against any treatment at this stage saying that it would not get to the uterus anyway. He said to come back if the discharge became heavier or nasty.
Hoping for a good pregnancy but as always apprehensive that all will go well.
