I have 4 pups (toy breed) on RC, aged 6wks, for the last few days they have been going loopy. I know pups are very active but this is unreal...they wont sleep, they are on the go all the time with little cat naps. There have been a few minor fights. I was wondering if RC causes hyper activity or something. I tried them on Wainwrights but they didnt like it, Im wondering if I should try a different food and see what they are like on it...this is the first time Ive tried this food. Any advice please:(

I have reared many toys on RC mini junior with fabulous results. And they love it - always a bonus. At 6 weeks I expect minor fights, this is where they are taught manners and mum should be intervening and pinning them down.
All perfectly natural to me! :-) :-)
Thanks Jean.
Mum doesnt get involved..shes definitly had enough.
I will keep them on the food and see how they go:)

Our last 3 litters have been raised on RC starter and then onto mini junior with super results. At that age I too think that the play fighting is normal, they are mini hooligans.
Mini Hooligans,
Thats about right!!! I mixed some cooked mince in with RC and they cleared the bowls, they seem a lot happier today. Well it was lovely and sunny and they were out on the front garden in the sunshine running and playing:)
I do hope it isn't the food, this is what mine are getting weaned onto. Sounds like you have some entertaining, energetic bundles of fun there toffeecrisp lol

All 4 seem to be ok on the RC, guess it was just an off day for them!!

I nearly gave an aussie back as he was unmanageable he was on RC. After taking him off it for a week he totally changed and now will not touch that food. This aussie turned into a really lovely dog it is surprising what food can do.

Thats what I've told puppy owners who say their pups get an 'energy rush' after eating. One owner wasn't convinced and on the advice of their vet swapped to Hills Science Diet.
