When you end up on a last page of a long multi-page discussion, how do you go back to one of the previous pages?

I've tried clicking the relevant page number and the back arrow (at the top and bottom of the page) but can never make it work.  The only way I've found to get back to an earlier page is to go to active topics, click on the original poster and search their posts for the first one.  Then I can move forward through the pages just not backward.

I'm currently stuck on p2 of this thread - does anyone else get stuck in an endless loop or is it just me? :)

Yes this happens to me to, I wonder if it is only with the older threads

Have just clicked on to the thread and I can move between the pages using either the arrows or the numbers. How odd.

If it happens to me, I find the easiest way is to log out ....then I can see EVERYTHING :D !

Noooo!  You're not on your own.  But I'm glad that someone else has mentioned it.  I don't feel such a bozo now.  :-)

Yes, me too - I've been meaning to ask for ages!!

Clickon 'Board Index' at the top, then click 'Mark Old' and 'Mark Read' (whoever they may be? :-D). Then you'll find that you can click between the pages of a thread again.

Never ahd a problem, but always use Active topics

Ah! I find that if I use Active Topics it goes to the last new post and if you want to look at earlier pages you can't. Have to go to the Board Index, find the item and then you can navigate between pages, thought it was just me.

Yes I use Active Topics too.  Once I've read the last post Nova, if I want to see the previous page, I go back to the Active Topic list and click on the topic again and it'll take you back to the beginning. :)

This used to bug me but I found my way around it, what you can do is add the page number you are after in the search bar to the thread url, it's always worked for me.

all you have to do is add in the "pg1"  after the string of number at the end and before the dot:

I don't have that problem I just click on the page numbers.

It's odd that some of us have trouble - and have to find a 'work around', and others have full functionality...

I do log out from time to time, and presumably everything refreshes when I log back in, but even when I stay logged on AND use active topics (as suggested) I still have the same trouble. 

I will try some of the suggested ways to get around the problem but I am curious about why some can use page number or arrow buttons and some can't.  I wonder if it's my setup?  Can you guys have a look at your options and tell me what you have - what is the collapse topic branches bit?  I don't have that selected.  Also what totals do you have for topics and posts per page?  I have topics 25 and posts 50
