It has just dawned on me that we may no longer be able to compete in novice classes.

At the same champ show we got a 1st in PG bitch and also a 1st in Good Citizen Bitch
This weekend we got a 1st in graduate at an open show.

Do these count as our 3 firsts?

I think the Graduate and PG wins would count, not sure about the GC one I'm afraid!!

There are 2 sections to this
Wins in AV dont count for breed classes but when entering variety wins in AV & breed count.
Depending on show, is depending on what is counted for Novice but at an open show it is 3 firsts at open & champ shows out of a puppy class. So it depends on what the classes were you won(breed or AV) & what class you want to enter(breed or AV). Confused?? it is easier to explain face to face/word to word.

I would say if your dog was good enough to win PG at a champ show, I wouldnt even consider entering your dog for Novice. Alot of folk use novice as a second class for puppies/juniors.  :)

The graduate win was a breed class and it is the GC win that has me a little unsure.  Prehaps I should just give the KC an email.

I am very new to showing and so not the best handler.  She won the PG class by being handled by her breeder, and so far hasn't really done much with me handling her in PG at champ or breed open shows (though have only been to two others).  I like the smaller numbers in novice, helps us both relax and enjoy it a little more :)

No need to email KC, it still counts towards her wins when totting up. :)
