Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Anglian Meat - how does it work????
- By issysmum [gb] Date 30.12.02 20:10 UTC
Please bear with me as I'm completely confused by this way of feeding and need help!!!!

Anglian Meat products appeal to me for a variety of reasons but I'm not sure how this feeding system works? Do you add veges to the meat as well as the mixer biscuit or are the frozen bits all complete??

Help!!!!!!!!!!

Also, how much do you think i'd need to feed a 10kg 12mth old normally active cocker spaniel?
- By JacquiN [gb] Date 30.12.02 20:18 UTC
I feed AMP's for some meals and will add veggies if the dogs are due for veg that day. I believe it to be complete so adding mixer to it could be upsetting the meat/bone or calcium/phospherous ratio....I could be wrong though ;)

As for feeding Cocker, I've no idea, sorry :o Mine are gannets :D

If you go to there website, I'm sure it gives you feeding guidlines

I went to their website and I couldn't see any feedign guidelines :(

I guess I'll have to phone them up - which I was hoing to avoid as I hate using the phone :(

Hopefully I can email them and get across what I'm trying to say without sounding like a complete idiot!!!

OK, put the phone down ;) I knew I'd read it somewhere. On the back of the packs (which is as good a place as any, really).

I have them here now and it says :
Small 250gm
Medium 400 gm (which is one pack)
Large 500 gm
Giant 750 gm

Reading further down it does say you can serve with veggies, pasta, or mixer ect or simply feed alone.
HTH some :)

Thanks Jacqui - you've saved me from the phone :)

Fiona,

If you do decide to call them they are really good and will send you loads of leaflets to read and if you ask they will also send you a sample pack worth approx £15..

I'm going to get Chris to phone them Pam - I really hate using the phone and always get chris to call people from work (mind you, my phone bill doesn't really reflect this fear of the phone :()

Anglian meat products do a great selection of food, both cooked and raw. The feeding guidelines are on the products. There are raw meats with added veg, cooked organic chicken, Lamb with brown rice, whole beef chunks and tripe with brown rice too. They also do fish. They do all the usual raw packs in 400gm packs, and I think they do large pieces for large dogs. They will deliver to you if you have a certain amount.

Thanks Dawn

That was really helpful., I was just being nosey :D We have recently had a homeopathic vet over and he did a talk which was very interesting, but the only thing was that he was pushing the BARF diet. I've no great shakes on what people feed their dogs., each to their own., but he was most insistant that if you do not feed your dog BARF then they are not well dogs on the inside

I have since then, just been wondering about alternative feeding., but could not bring myself to feed raw meat. I just cant stand the stuff, my grandad used to be a butcher and used to chop up the cows in our garage. The smell of the raw meat makes me want to be sick !! So was just trying to see if there was any alternative......

Hi Nat,
Im a fellow hater of the raw meat, yet i still feed my lot raw! hmmm, i have used some of the AMP stuff, not too bad, just open the pack and sling it in a bowl, but i also manage to blend offal (mine wont eat it whole), and i carried a bag full of bones and meat from the butchers to the car without loosing my dinner.

Hmmm, i did get a friend to hack up said lumps of ribcage etc in the front garden, and even though it was cold, with no wind and i was 10 feet away, i did still throw up in the street!!!!!! ooops, so i will be asking my butcher to hack the bits up small for me!!!!!!!
(if you think i am not that bad, i cant walk PAST my local meat market with out heaving violently!!!!!!!!!)

I think I got the wrong site as this interested me too. I put in Anglian Meat and got a site that said something about minced meat and tripe and nothing else no links anywhere. There was a link to an on line pet shop. Could someone give me the correct address.
