I am trying to find someone in Kent or London to look after my two Deerhounds from 13-20 April. It is the week of our Breed Show and all their usual hosts will be away showing. The dogs are well trained, clean and good with children and other dogs. Would anyone be able to help?

cant they go in a kennel? thats what mine have to do
They can, but I'd rather not pay a commercial kennel for a week if someone is prepared to look after them.

Don't blame you, much nicer for them to stay in their own home. There was another thread I think with a link to a homesitters website if you try searching.
Sorry - I meant in the sitter's own home, not mine.

Like I said there is a link on a thread here with some places that do that, or enquire at your local vets.

I'd imagine in most cases you'll pay more for them to stay in someone's home, rather than less.
ETA, that is someone reputable, with appropriate insurance.

Hope you got sorted ArchieFergus,I could help, but live in County Durham!I have a deerhound bitch and 2 Jack Russells,I'm sure they'd have had a great time together!
It's very kind of you, but I live near Sandwich so we are a little way apart! Thank you for the offer anyway.

I know of someone who does home boarding near Canterbury. She likes to meet the dogs first with their owner and introduce them to her dogs, then she takes them for a couple of hours to see how they settle etc, then overnight with owner available in case of a problem and if all is well after that she will then book them in for a stay.
If you would like more details PM me and I will give you her details. She is fully insured, licensed etc and has very well behaved dogs of her own - I did a clicker training course with her at her premises but haven't used her boarding services as never needed to. The dogs live in her home with her and her family.
